Sort values from subreport

Hi,

Can a master report be sorted from the number value that is passed from a subreport? OR

if I have a multi-instance table and I have grouped by unique ID. I've created a runningtotal to totalup the value within the unique ID and I need to use that number to subtract from another value. Can I also sort that column?

No, you can't sort by values coming from subreports.

You also can't sort by running totals. You can use group sort to sort based on inserted summaries, but not on formulas containing summaries. So I guess the question is what exactly are you totalling within the ID group? Can you show some sample data? Also show what the formula would look like where you subtract some value from the summary.
