I would like to have a report sorted by increase in sales from last year. I currently have a table with the customer number, name and last year's sales. Each month, I import the customer number and YTD sales for the current month only into a separate table.

I've written a report, sorted by customer number, to show customer number, name, last year's sales, this year's sales and the amount of increase, but I can't figure out how to sort it by the increase.

Any ideas?

Calculate that value and add it to the underlying separate table.

Reporting tools a basically huge iterative engines. Having it calculate fields for a grouping would destroy all forms of performance ("well you know what I mean...").
