Sort Order with parentheses in text field

Hey, Gang -
Have a simple table with a text field which has the following data - sorted ASC:
CH2-(Cb,S)
CH2(CN)-(C)
CH2-(CO,=C)

It appears to ignore the dashes. I cannot find any reference to this issue anywhere. Weird.

Any Help?

I think this has been around for a while. A solution is to use Replace() to replace the hyphen with another character if you need to sort by the field.

Wow - been doing this for 45 years and cannot believe I have not run into this before.
Any 'official' explanation / link from, say Microsoft, or any IT group that you know of?
