I have a report which is grouped by

Center
Company
Holder

When i use sort order as ascending for all groups it shows me the records on 1 page
But When i use sort order as original for all groups it shows me the records on 8 pages

However the number of records read are same but the way it displays is different.

What is wrong here..? Is there any way to solve this..?

I think you would have to show us a sample of how the report displays in original order.

OK.

Here is what displayed when using Ascending order

Center Company Holder COUNT (Based on Holder)
010 AJL A7221 7
011 XLA A7301 12
012 TXX A7551 3

And here is what displayed when using Original Order

Center Company Holder COUNT (Based on Holder)
010 AJL A7221 3
011 XLA A7301 5
012 TXX A7551 1
010 AJL A7221 4
011 XLA A7301 3
012 TXX A7551 2
011 XLA A7301 4

If you read the Help section on group and original order, you will see that the grouping honors the order in the database--which means the same value could be repeated in multiple groups. I've never found a use for original order. Why are you using it here? Why not just use a different type of order that follows the more expected rules for grouping?
