I have a montly changing table of water usage from different users. The order of persons in the excel table is fixed, but the graph should show a sorted order of the totals of water usage.

person 1: 3 | 2 | 1 = 6
person 2: 4 | 3 | 2 = 9
person 3: 1 | 2 | 1 = 4

the graph should automatically order the totals which change from month to month :

person 3 (4)----
person 1 (6)------
person 2 (9)---------

Hi,

The order of persons in the excel table is fixed
WHY?

Sort order is something that is so simple to perform, AND it is what you will want to do in order to generate the pareto of water usage. The order of series in the chart is based on the order of the data in the source table.

The other option is to use MS Query, to generate another copy of the table to sort independently of the original.

yep, I know how to perform, but I have to do this manually and I prefer to do it automatically. Perhaps I create a macro.

Trun on your macro recorder and record doing it.

Post back with your recorded code if you need help customizing.
