Mitel 3300 MXe11 on MiVb 8

Mitel has no access to Internet.

I need to apply an enterprise licence to the controller that has no SWA so can't upgrade.

I have read several posts regarding licencing via the SI tool from a PC / Laptop that does have Internet access but these do not describe the complete procedure.

My understanding of how licencing is achieved via the SI tool is that you select fresh install untick everything else and let it run. If this is the case do you not have to select a path for the software load before proceeding as I recall you can't select next until the path is set and if so the only option is to load the current software version.

There are also some comments that suggest after the licencing has loaded to pull the LAN from the Mitel. Just need clarification of the entire procedure don’t really want to load the current SW again due to time constraints simply apply the licence.

Thanks

yes you can use SI

pick full install - set anything as FTP
make sure everything but licensing is deselected

the SI will need to be able to talk to MIVB and to internet
it will read licenses in from internet and then get the matching ARID values from amc and apply them

if mivb has a blank ARID( offline) then it will most likely restart the pabx and convert it to online licensing

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Thanks for the quick response.

ok I get it set FTP to anything therefore the SW load will presumably fail and the current SW load will not be effected but the licencing will apply. So let the SI tool run until the SW load fails ?

This system does have ARID set as recently upgraded via SI tool from internet enabled laptop.

Yep thats correct

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

even if you have a valid ftp and software available, just choosing licensing will not try to install anything
