We are looking at setting up a mini call centre (just 5 or so people).
These people will take calls from our clients and enter order information into our order database system.
My boss has tasked me to find out if it is possible to have the database open the appropriate client file when the client calls in based on the Caller ID.
I have not been able to make much progress on this, as although I know a bit about development, I know nothing about phone systems. Does anyone have any ideas where I can find out more ?
It is with keen interest that the other day, I noticed that some of our digital terminals (They are called Sophos Ergoline) have a port on the back that looks like an RS232 connector. Is this possibly the key to my question ?
I would appreciate any help that anyone could supply.
