Hello all,

We running GP 7.5, and one of the salesperson mentioned to me that they are correcting the tax constantly.

From the description that they gave me, it appears that GP is calculating tax per line item, and adding up the tax for the final tax amount, thus sometimes making the tax off.

I would assume that tax should be calculated from the subtotal + other taxable amounts.

Is this normal behavior? Is it possible for me to change it, to the "correct" method.

Thanks.

tax is calculated on a line per line basis and then summed.

GP does this as there is the ability for items to be taxable or not.

There is no way to change to the other way of subtotal taxing.

I remember seeing a custom modification to a system years ago for a company that sold cigars (luvsql knows more about this than I do) where they had weird and wonderful tax calculations.

So short answer, no. Long answer, yes but it's gonna cost you.

and they wonder why they call it Great Pains!
