ok, heres the skinny....

my site is soon ready to launch and I need a few once overs to see if I missed anything...(laughs at self)

ignore the whitespace in the center...that will be filled with news articles when I have some and also ignore the same news article posted several times on the one page....

I did that cause I didnt want to waste time creating a bunch of different articles...

the site address is

Thanks in advance

nicely-done. "TODAYS HEADLINES" should be "TODAY[red]'[/red]S HEADLINES".

then there's always this, which irks me:
the weather images are kinda blurry - not sure if you're planning on doing anything about that...

other than that, nothing really stands out...

Unless its a a play on words ... sites should be sights.

Nice work buddy, great site.

Only other coment i have to add, again with the weather box, it currently says 'Cloudy with sunny' which sounds a little odd, is this somthing you can change of is it parsed directly from a feed?

Other than that great work.

Actually that's the problem I have with this site. When you hit the home page, you're assailed with a wall of adverts and tiny articles - there's nothing to draw the eye or to give you an immediate sense of what the site's about.

Syndicated content in the middle, a load of blinking adverts round the outside. At first glance it looks like one of those automatically generated portal pages that gets built on domains that don't get renewed - it has me reaching for the back button before I've read the first word.

I'd remove the banner ad from the top - it dominates the whole layout, but probably won't bring in much money. Have a prominent message welcoming people to the site and explaining it's purpose (your misspelled strap line isn't doing that). Use fewer news stories but make them bigger - make it look like a human being has selected the top stories for the day (even if they haven't!), rather than grabbing whatever's going on the news feed.

Oh, and (pet peeve coming up) don't use such tiny text everywhere! It might look cool if you don't actually need to read it, but it's a real pain to those of us, ahem, whose eyes are feeling their age. Look at the site in Firefox, press Ctrl and +, isn't that better?

Under the hood you're not gonna win any geek points. Table based layout, no DOCTYPE (which might give you cross-browser issues, though it looks OK in FF), a lot of presentational attributes. Still, at least there's no <font> tags.
