Sony Monitor CPD-200ES Pix pulls in from sides

I have a Sony Monitor CPD_200ES that pulls in from both sides about 1 inch and a 3 inch black band forms across the screen every time the screen is mostly white...It will last for about 45 seconds and then the band will slowly get smaller and smaller until it is gone and then the screen will return to normal...It will be ok until I get to another white screen then it will repeat.

Has anyone ever seen this problem?

No, never.
Gut feeling is that it's a hardware fault rather than adjustment issue.
Just make sure you have the latest video drivers and the system sees the right monitor...and that settings are not asking for something beyond the scope of the rig.
(altho you'd probably get NO video at all if that were true)
Might try manually degaussing...tho I'd be surprised if it helped.
