Sony E400 Trinitron prob

I'll start by saying i'm a big fan of CRT's, especially my Sony, great image, good colour, etc

Recently i've been noticing that on dark colours or black there are light lines that run across, left to right then diagonally down and back to the left side of the screen, then across left to right again - all the way down the screen. Is this a sign its on its way out or just something out of alignment?

I'm running it on an Ati 8500 and have tried a variety of refresh rates and resolutions but with no effect

Try a different monitor (or your monitor on another machine), to isolate the problem.

It looks like the beam retrace signals are not blanked enough, so you can still see them. Can be due to some circuits aging inside. If you're lucky you can find an adjustment for it, inside.
