Sony dru-820a not burning

Hi all, just got a sony dru 820a dvd burner,I am running windows 200 sp4 on a AOpen p4 2.4ghz. The problem is nero says the drive won't burn to dvd+r or dvd+rw. I have tried different versions of nero. Sony support is still looking into it as well as nero support. Anyone come across this type of problem? I have taken the drive back to the store, and got a replacement to try to rule out the hardware, same issue.
