I'm running Windows XP... When I try to import video shot with my Sony Handycam (DCR-PC100) into After Effects, it opens as an unmanipulatable audio-looking file, and I can't do anything with it. Other AVI files already on the computer open fine when imported. It seems to have something to do with the Microsoft MovieMaker program, but I don't know how to make it view it correctly... I recently upgraded from Windows 98 to XP.
Please help!

Your Sony Handycam may be recording dynamically to tape with a separate audio codec.

Make sure you have it installed.

Actually, it's not from recorded tape... It's a "live" feed directly from the camera. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the audio (just the strange "audio-looking file" that doesn't play). It just seems like the program won't or doesn't recognize my camera input. The 3 choices are: my QuickCam input, my Rage Graphic input, and the Microsoft MovieMaker input. When I select the Rage input, I get nothing but static. If I select the MovieMaker input, I get an image, but not one that After Effects will recognize... it's frustrating...
