We purchased a new Sony SDX-400V AIT tapestreamer.
I installed it with the most recent drivers (1.0.0.4 08/31/2004).
Device is working fine in Device Manager. RSM works fine, I can mount and dismount the tapes.
NTBackup fails if I want to preform a backup or even want to format the tape.
I get: Cannot detect the selected backup device.
Another thing I noticed was that there are two media pools reported in NTBackup: 8mm AIT1 and 8mm AIT. the 8mm AIT1 contains the tape.
Two other AIT drives work fine with NTBackup, both are an older model (SDX-400c).
Does anyone have an idea what to do?
Purchasing other backup software is not an option...
