I was configuring a 3rd party h323 endpoint and was not able to set the account codes to work. When I press the account code the system simply does not interpret them, as if nothing was pressed.

Therefore for this particular extension I have configured a manual user shortcode to act as an account code at least I can restrict access.
I did it this way:
SC:123#N (where 123 is the shortcode and N is the restriced number)
Number:N
Feature:dial

The problem was that when I call an external number, they hear my voice but I could not hear their voice.
I have modified the shortcode to the following:
SC:123N
Number:N
Feature:dial.

Can you belive that by removing the # I got the voice back and solved the problem?

Are there any shortcode experts around that can explain this very strange behaviour? I am running a IPO 412 3.1(56).
Trunk lines Quad BRI and 4 -port analog and the problem is from both types of trunk lines.

the # is essentially telling the system you are done with your digit dialing. If you notice, all system default short codes end with the # sign. I have started short codes with the # sign and didn't have any problems but ones I have put the sign in the middle of my short code, it has never worked for me.
