Hi
I was on a adult chat on yahoo with ID and suddenly a message came asking me if i really do belong to the place i mentioned to the chatter. I do not remember i ever had a chat with new hacker but, this guy gave me all the information including the content i was typing with the female i am typing, my isp and said he knows my Home phone too and exact area i belong.

This hacker reproduced entire conversation of ours in his chat window of yahoo he intruded me. My IP too was there.
But before i could get more details he logged out.

Please can you tell me how is this possible? which software enables this guy to get into my created yahoo id and tell my entire information. Is my system under attack of hackers, can they steal any information from me?

Yeah on insistence he used this sentence "why you want bysister in you system" "that can damg the ram" (that can damage the ram). Any help here would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Could this hacker be from my ISP itself who have installed autologin software for me just in the morning. How should i know who else logged in the system and how to avoid it.

To be honest, most of that information could have been attained with a couple of remote commands an an internet search, then by using the messenger service, bring it up on your screen.

However, knowing what software you have installed would be the nail in the coffin. To be fair, nobody here is going to be able to tell you how he did it, there are a thousand ways. What we can do, is recommend that you use a firewall (if you do not already). If you're using XP, then upgrade to SP2 and use that firewall. Scan your system with Adaware's free personal version, Spybot search and destroy, then download and run Hijackthis! and look through the report for anything suspicious.

Obvious, make sure you are up to date on patches.

Carlsberg don't run I.T. departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.

And be sure you have an active and updated antivirus program.

A few good free popular ones are:
AVG Free (my personal favorite)
Avast! (some like this better than AVG, some prefer AVG)
Antivir (this one finds more viruses, but also has more false positives).
