Hi there !
I just noticed in my Sql Server 2000 that Few people setup SQL Server/ Client on my machine. I never create those server name or client name on my machine. I just create one for myself. But when i clicked the combo box of SQl Query Analyser i seen 3 more server name/client name on the machine. Please guide me how i can prevent this unwanted ascess on my machine ?

Any suggestions and comment is most welcome. !

With thanks !

What do you mean? Do you mean when you go into Enterprise manager you see other servers?

Has someone created users on your SQL server? If so....delete them...then make sure your sa account has a password on it. Make sure that Enterprise manager does not store the password for your server (means you have to type in the password every time you connect with Enterprise manager.) Make sure you don't leave your machine logged in unattended especially if you use intergrated security and you have set up your NT account as db admin role.

Thanking Francis for your suggestion.

Yeah.. True. That's what i exactly meant..

I delted all the users but how many times i have to do the same? Every second- third day, I again see few other user there. MY sa account hasn't have easily guessable password on it.

Enterprise manager stores the password of my server because, i never type in the password every time connected with Enterprise manager. By the way, where the Enterprise Manager stores the password ? Do you have any idea?

Apart from me, there is only my sister who use the machine and she only knows how to surf the web.. :) Nothing more then that..

With thanks!

remove the server from Enterprise manager and add it back in.

Change your sa password anyway. You say it is not easily guessible but it must be guessed already.

Make sure your SQL server is properly patched. If its has a gapping known security hole and you haven't patched it then your SQL server is not secure.
