This is a problem that has been plaguing me off and on for a year:{

Here's the setup: small legal office- Win2k server, 5 workstations all running XP Pro(SP2), Netgear wireless router (server and 1 workstation hard-wired, other 4 workstations connect via WEP enabled wireless.)

I have two workstations that periodically refuse to logon - they timeout while looking for the server and then logon with a locally cached profile. I have tried LOTS of things to fix this, but nothing ever does. Usually after 3 or 4 tries the machine will log on.

Right now though, I have a slightly new, and very wacky and static situation: one workstation (with external Dell USB wireless adapter) simply refuses to connect, the 2nd worksation (a brand new Dell laptop with internal 802.11g)will only log on if the user is not already logged on at another workstation!

I am pulling my hair out! Anyone have any ideas???

How do your IP and DNS settings look? Of the cuff, it sounds like some of your machines are having trouble "seeing" your domain controller.

-If it ain't broke, break it and make it better.
