Some weird things going on in the /opt directory

Hey
I'm trying to remove an old installation of staroffice 5.1.
It is located in /opt/Office51
When I su in as root and uninstall it, the directory and the files are deleted as expected.
However when I go into the directory as a normal user, it is still there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is going on?
Have I had to much to drink?

Did you do a rehash before checking if the files are still there ? Too bad I.T. is not cash business
