Some users messages get stuck in Virtual SMTP queue

Hi wonder if anyonecan help. Our exchange server seems to work fine most of the time however we have 2 or 3 users who send mail that occasionaly gets trapped in the default virtual smtp directory queue. Everyone else apart from the se few users are fine. Can anyone recommend something that it might be or the best way to diagnose why these mails are getting trapped.
