Hello.
I'm trying to fully understand yum usage.
I sucessed to use it for installations and tested how to configure local repository.

However please clarify my doubt.
Assume I want to list installed package(s) using yum command.
I can not list it without internet (repository) access. Can I?
And the same question of listing repositories.

And additionally. How yum determines fastest mirror of repository?

Thanks.

The fastest mirror thing is a plugin. I think it just gets a test file from each repository and uses the transfer speed to rank them.

Yum list installed will probably work without a connection.

If you are new to yum, you probably don't need to install or configure a local repository, unless you are going on a trip and won't have internet access for a while.

1. and 3. ok
2. Unfortunately it doesnt work for me when no connection. I'll keep searching anyway.
