hi,
i have some question related MAC address. i'm working networking device maufacturing company, and developed a L2 switch. but, our L2 switch seems unable to communicate its Gateway with certain MAC addresses; we connected our L2 switch to L3 switch (this is commertial product from a well-known company) on its uplink, and PC to one of downlink ports of our L2 switch. for MAC address of our L2 switch, we use the first 3 octet from the IEEE assigned OUI, and for the last 3 octet, we assigned arbitrarily. And, with some MAC address, the PC can get the Internet access. But, with some other MAC, the PC cannot get access to the Internet. Anyone, can anyone guess what might cause this type of problem? thank you.
