One of the receptionist is commenting on how the F keys are "tricky to push". I check it out and unless your 100% square on they can be tough to push down.

I highly doubt I could use WD-40 on it but is there some kinda of non smelling plastic grease out there?

Thanks!

Jim

You gotta be kidding me.

Level 1 repair - unplug, hold upside down, vigorously move keys

Level 2 repair - Repeat level 1 only more vigorously

Level 3 repair - Take apart down to buttons. This requires breaking of seals inside but otherwise only screws. Clean Keys and Clean the insides of the holes for the keys. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP TRACK OF WHAT KEYS GO WHERE! Take a picture beforehand.

Or - you could always use lacquer thinner like one of my customers did. NOT!!!

Hahhahaha yeah I thought the request was rather out there, I dunno maybe its time for a new one. She's worn the answer to a U shaped key now.

Thank kw, and have a good long weekend!

This is unfortunately due to a poor key design. The SC1000 has been plagued with this problem of having keys stick. Usually you will see the key that has the problem as the edge will be stuck down. Pressing the button again (more in the center) usually fixes it.

Then you have the stuck key without any visual clue... take the side of your hand and slide it from one side to the other, making sure you touch each button. This should fix it.

Your problem however, doesn't sound like my solution will fix it... with a button that is completely worn down, you should replace the unit and send the old one to repair.

I hope this helps.
