Some Internet sites cannot be accessed via Netscape

I have recently had a problem with Netscape. I use Hotmail for my Email. I get onto the signon screen, complete signon, and password, but after that... nothing! The main screen never shows up, even though the browser keeps trying to access it.
Got any suggestions?
