Can someone tell me what will happen if i FTP a jar file to unix in ascii mode.Supposed some application on unix requires those files to be presentin the classpath then will it work as the jars files had been ftped in ascii format.
Thanks in advance

Hi Sourabh,
In ASCII mode ftp transfers 7 bit from each byte because older bit for ASCCI character (English) always is zero. In case transfering jar file(s) its content will be distored. Regards Boris
