I keep getting this error, and its on every page, so I guess it must be the master page, I just don't see it though, any idesa would be gratfully accepted.

<script type="text/javascript">_popupControl();</script>

It will be from Norton or another security app running on the user's machine.

Akshewally, it might be Google toolbar or something like that.

Either way, it's being injected by something on the user machine rather than your code.

Aha, that explains why it suddenly appeared. Methinks, say goodbye to googlebar.

I'll check it out and report back.

I really want to add the w3 ticky thing to my website, so can I ignore that validation error, or do I have to figure out the resolution to it?

First web site so I want it right, as there may be more business and I want to make sure it is totally professional.

Even if the idiot behind it is as green as get out!

Hmm, it's a judgement call really.

The invalid code isn't something you have put in, it's being inserted by the client. So in theory the page will validate on a machine that isn't injecting anti-popup javascript.

There is nothing stopping you putting the Validation 'tick' on the page. If you are confident that the only error is being caused by something on the client side then go for it.
