We are using Outlook 2002. We also recently upgraded the Symantec virus software to 9.0. It seems that shortly after that the following occured.
A small percentage of our Emails send a warning after a couple of hours saying:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.
Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed.
Then several hours after that we get a message:
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
'XXXXX'on 8/11/2004 2:38 AM
Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified. Please retry or contact your administrator.
<XXXXX #4.4.7>
I'm replacing the actual Email addresses with XXXXX for this post.
I don't see where we are on any Spam blocking lists. I can send hotmail to the sites that are failing so I know it is not on their side.
What seems strange is it only happens to a small percentage of our Email. Any thoughts or tools on finding out what is going wrong?
