We are going to upgrade to 4.0 tonight. I have some questions.

1.I read about Element Manager, do we need to have Element Manager for 4.0? When do we need element manager? We are currently only using digital phones

2.I found out that we have 1 IP license, How to use IP phone for BCM? We have plenty of i2002/04 from our other side using CS1000. I would like to test the Ip phone

3.Is there any specific wav/Mp3 file requirement to put the company music as MOH? How we add this song to the BCM?

Thank you

You use element manager to program the system. You need it if you want to make any programming changes.

Register the IP phone to the BCM. Instructions are in the docs. Make sure you enable registration, set the registration password and what not. Also, the port is 7000, not 4100 as it is on the CS1000.

MOH files need to be WAV files that are less than 5 MB in size. You may need to use a sound editor to get the files to a manageable size.

So, I just want to make sure again. The Element Manager is part of the BCM not in the separate box. I used to with CS1000 which the element manager resides in a separate box.

Same name different product like CallPilot. For the BCM element manager is a software application loaded on the machine performing the programming maintenance.
