Some Basic Subreport Parameters Help

I am new to Sql Reports. I am trying to link a subreport to a parent report.(ie access linkChildField ,linkMasterfield) I know that in Sql Reports they are called but i am not sure which parameters I have to set.
1) The main reports Parameters.
2) The subreport control Parameter.
3) The actual subreport Parameters.

You create the "sub" report as a standard report and put parameters on it
You then insert the report into another report, thereby creating a subreport

When in the MAIN report, right click on the subreport and choose properties, then parameters.

Within this dialog box, you can choose each parameter from your subreport and align it to a field within the main report
