Is Crystal Enterprise 9 available to install in Unix platform? If so is ‘Unix’ a valid authentication type ?
( Just like Enterprise,LDAP,Windows NT )

Is Crystal Enterprise Unicode compliant (Can it be deployed in multi – lingual environment )

This is what Crystal Decisions says on their website -

*****

Crystal Enterprise is available for:

Windows® NT®/2000/.NET Server
Unix (SunTM SolarisTM, IBM® AIX®)

Different systems can be combined in one installation - allowing you to pick the best platform for each component. For example, large reports may be better run close to the database on a UNIX platform, and web components may be managed more easily on a Windows® platform.

There's a detailed whitepaper at -

I don't think that ‘Unix’ is a valid authentication type? Your only choices are Enterprise, LDAP, Windows NT (and PeopleSoft if you buy the PeopleSoft solutions kit from Crystal Decisions)

Yes, it supports multiple languages. I am running a billingual (English/French) Crystal 8.5 configuration on my current project. It required us to purchase and install BOTH the English and French versions of CE 8.5, then modify the ePortfolio pages to allow the user to switch langauges at any time.

It's OK with 2 languages, but may be more difficult with 3 or more. How many are you dealing with, and what are they?

Thanks MJRBIM,

I could not find detailed installation instructions for Crystal Enterprise for Unix as aganist Crystal Enterprise for Windows. Do you have any documents on that ?

I am just studying about the features of Crystal Enterprise for a future deployment.

Also do you know I can import information from
Crystal Info 5,Seagate Info 6 and Seagate Info 7 ?

Sorry, can't help you with those questions...

We are only running Windows Boxes, so I don't have any UNIX install info.

We have only had to import from CE 8.5 to 9.0 - haven't pulled anything from Crystal Info 5,Seagate Info 6 or Seagate Info 7.
