We just had our servers upgraded to Microsoft Server 2003 from Microsoft Server 2000. We have a few hundred ASP scripts that we run on the server that also use SQL Server 2000. Most of the scripts are running fine on the new server, but some of them seem to not be able to post to the server.

I have an ASP form, it loads fine and if you click save immediately after loading it will post back fine and all data will be saved, but if you wait a few minutes then when it tries to post to the server then I get a white screen with "Done" in the lower left corner, or message saying the page cannot be displayed cannot find server or DNS error.

The strange thing it is not consistent across all scripts - some work totally fine - with the same code! Also, some scripts immediately go to a white screen or page cannont be displayed and time doesn't seem to be a factor at all. But with both of them refreshing or hitting the go button will allow the page to load fine - but none of the data will be saved

Any ideas would be so much appreciated!!!!

nmath,
Just had the same problem with a couple web apps here.

One was solved by enabling the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) service. Google for specifics.

The other was solved by unchecking "Run IIS in isolation mode" in IIS manager under WebSites/Properties/Services.

The problems seem to vary depending on the software that was involved.

Hope this helps.
