We have been experiencing an annoying problem with a Domino 5.0.8 server running on Win2K (SP3). Some of our scheduled agents occassionaly fail to run. It happens to different agents that normally run successfully. They don't start and fail with errors, they simply don't run and nothing shows up in log.nsf. Other agents are running just fine.
We think we have narrowed it down to those occassions when an administrator restarts the Win2K server while connected using Terminal Services. It doesn't seem to matter whether we use Services to stop the Notes Domino service first or forget to stop the service.
It seems that when this happens, the Agent Manager loses some, but not all, of it's schedule. Everything returns to normal at the next "Refresh agent cache" time.
I have added Debug_AMgr = * to the Notes.ini file on this server, but it's not giving us any new information in this respect.
If you haven't used Terminal Services yet, you will not know that you cannot see the Domino Server console when connected this way. And when you restart the Win2K server in this way, the event log does not show a normal shutdown. All you see when the server comes back up is an event stating that the previous shutdown was unexpected.
Has anyone else run into this? Is it possible these server restarts and failed agents are coincidental and we are barking up the wrong tree?
