Hi All
Here I have an requirement. In my web application I have a task to Scan the document and convert to pdf.

I created a Active X control using Kodak Image Scan Control. This Active X takes care scanning the Document in TIF format and storing it in the specified directory, but I don't have any solution for converting tiff to pdf.

Now I need answer/solution for 3 questions
1. Is is advisable to use Kodak Image Scan control?
2. Is there any other Twain DLL avilabe to take care of Scannig?
3. Is there any DLL availabel for TIF to PDF conversion

This is my urgent and very Important requirement.Any of ur solutions are greatly appreciatable.

Thanks

Thank You

It is a free tool that comes with win9x to win2k. Not eXPensive though. When you create your distribution package do not include the tool in your setup (since it should already be on the destination system and it is tied tightly to the OS and you do not have rights to distribute it). Secondly there is a place where you can get the professional version of these tools and that is at...

ScanSoft, Lead, Pegasus Imaging, Prime, and several others have controls and/or methods of using Technology Without An Interesting Name and/or using ISIS to control a scanner.

The full version of Adobe comes with a print driver that allows you to print from any application to it to create a PDF. There are also several other venders out there that sell products that do the same thing.

Good Luck

I've posted this before, but it is probab;y worth posting again:

Under XP you can use the snappily titled (and little publicised) Windows Image Acquisition Automation Library, which provides most of the functionality that existed in the Wang/Kodak controls. The following link may be of help:
Parts of the above library may also work on W98/Me/NT4/2000 if you have installed the GDI+ libraries. I haven't tested this yet, but for the curious you can get the GDI+ redistributables here:
