Solstice DISKSUITE Configuration File

Hi,

I am trying to find out if there is a configuration file or list of configuration files that I can scan through in order to figure out the SOLSTICE DISKSUITE configuration. I am new to DISKSUITE and I am trying to reverse engineer a configuration that was left here by a previous administrator. Thanks in advance for any kind of support, it is greatly appreciated.

Have a look at /etc/opt/SUNWmd/md.tab for configuration information about mirrors etc. You might also use metastat to provide further info. about mirror states etc.

Disksuite is fine once you get the naming concepts into your head. All the meta this & meta that are confusing to start with. If you can use the GUI to start with it makes visualisation much easier. Otherwise md.tab, metastat and /etc/vfstab all combined should give you a pretty complete picture of what is going on. Ian

Hi,

The following commands will tell u all about a metadevice:
metatool or solstice(graphical utility)
metastat(provides meta-device stats)

If u are trying to boot and it is giving a metadb error
then u can see the file /etc/system for rootdev entry
and hash out this entry.Make sure to make appropriate
entry in /etc/vfstab file also...
