What is the likelihood of retrofitting a solid state hard drive in my HP as the primary drive? I would like to transfer all my programs to the SSHD to speed up the whole computer. I then will use my original hard drive to hold photos and the like.

I have a Pavillion a1600n with 4 gigs of ram.

Thanks,

Daniel

Pretty good, considering most SSDs have standard SATA interfaces. Just plug and play. You will have to reinstall or ghost/clone Windows to the new drive, but other than that there should be no issues.

Whether you'll notice a significant speed up is a different story.
