Recently "aquired" a Compaq Proliant 1850R. We thought that it would make a great Solaris 8 Machine... of course it didn't work. We're getting a few errors, the first 2 show up before Solaris loads up the drivers:

1. ACPI RSD PTR at 0xf4f90 has checksum error.
2. int 15h e820h reported ACPI reclaim memory but ACPI table not found.

The third shows up after selecting the type of install. It shows up and reboots, starting the whole thing over again:

3. Unsupported Opcode.

We've seen a lot of this with Proliant Servers, but haven't seen a successfull conclusion. Any help?

the message "reported ACPI Reclaim Memory but APCI Tables not found." as reported as BUGID: 4361915, you can ignore WARNING message, no other adverse affects observed as a result of the message.

Regards,

Carlos Almeida,

We thought those messages weren't the problem, but wanted to make sure. We're still having the opcode problem.

Something like this...? with bad spelling !

Configuring /dev & /devices
WARNING : Unsopported OpCode
WARNING : Unsopported OpCode
Using RPC Bootparams for networking config....

Reported as BUGID 4299582 "WARNING message 'Unsopported OpCode'"

SUN as asked to eliminate this useless warning message, someone should evaluate what the unsupported opcode is and what the impact is,if there is no impact and this is just a nuisance warning msg as is most probable, just get rid of it, we should not be printing anything on the console that isn't actually causing a problem.

Also on this one no adverse efects observed as a result of this message... I request to someone remove this WARNING message about 2 years ago.

Regards,

Carlos Almeida.

After we get the Unsupported Opcode message it just hangs. Just thought that could be the root of our problem, I guess we'll keep digging!

hummm..., are you installing from CD 1 of 2 ? or from install CD ?, I have 1 Compaq Proliant 1600 that works with no problems with a SmartArray 3200 card, you can also try to disable ACPI, I solve several hangs during install in some recent motherboards by disable the ACPI capabilities.

Regards,

Carlos Almeida,

We've tried using both cds to install. We'll try playing with the ACPI though, didn't even think about that!
