Solaris7 Intel Installation

Hi

I have Intel 333Mhz, 64MB Ram with Seagate Hard disk (2.1gb) and Creative CD drive.
I have created Boot floppy and tried to install Solaris
When it reaches to mounting system from CD rom , It displays error.

what could be wrong?

what is the error? what hardware do you have? is it a scsi cdrom, or ide? what graphics do you have ... if i have more to go on, i might be able to help

I have ATI RagePro 8 MB graphic card
with IDE (AOpen) CD Rom

i think the problem is with CD
it doesn't even boot when i try to boot from cd

solaris 7 doesn't boot from the CD on an intel machine ...

if it's solaris * you're using, then it should (if your CD is bootable)

what is the error on message?

the floppy that you created, how did you create it?
...

i created floppy using DD.exe
and downloaded image file

hey.. now i have upgraded my machine to AMD 600Mhz Duran with "GigaByte" Mother board , tell me, will Solaris work on this ?

best way to ever find out if it works ... sorry can't be more specific

best way to find out if anything works is to locate the network, graphics, scsi (if you have it), sound, and other pci/isa devices in the solaris compatability lists on access1.sun.com

if they are mostly there (especially scsi cards) then you have a good chance of having a working system ...

if your graphics card isn't there, and you don't need to work on it really, you can install with the video mode of 800x600 panning and that way (although it's annoying) you can get a complete install on the machine
