I have just built a new Netra T5440 which is running Solaris10 10/08 and I have just installed the Networker client software on this server ( VERSION: 7.1.2.Build.325 ). When I shut the Solaris server down I'm getting the following error message:-

nsradmin: RPC error: Progran not registered

nsradmin: There does not appear to be a Networker server running on dave

nsr_shutdown -a -q

Can someone tell me what is going on here?

Are you sure that you use nsradmin and connect to the same server? - If all daemons are down, no listener can react.

BTW - NW 712 is of course not supported on Solaris 10 as a NW server.

On the client I installed the following packages:-

LGTOclnt
LGTOdrvr
LGTOman

During the install it asks me for the networker server name, i entered the name of the server ( i have done this twice just in case! )

I have just checked the savegroup email for last nights backup and the new server worked fine. So i'm slightly confused as to what is going on here. Our Networker server is running Solaris9 and NW 712. Any other suggestions as i'm kinda stumped on this one?

Could it just be that you connected to the server via nsradmin and you forgot to exit the program before you shutdown the server?

I have never actually used nsradmin before. After I had finished the build of the new server all i did was to install the Legato client software on the newly built server. Then on the Legato server I just setup the new machine in the add clients bit.
