I have a Sun Ultra 10 with Solaris 5.7. I am not able to connect this to the network. I have configured the hme0 to the new IP address of my network with the corresponding net mask. the hosts and defaultrouter files in /etc are okay (ip address hostname )

Any tips on this .

Hi Dharmaraj,

You only need the IP address of your router in the /etc/defaultrouter file.

You may also use the command netstat -rn to check if you have your default router added in. If not, type in

#route add default IPaddress 1

Jaez

Thanks, Jaez. I have tried those options, but now suspect some problem with the hardware, since the diagnostic test for hme0 failed. Your comments?
