I inherited this problem so I'm not 100% sure what was done earlier.
Solaris 10.. the boot disk was mirrored. Due to some unrelated problem the earlier sys admin decided to remove mirroring, he edited the /etc/system and /etc/vfstab files. Renamed the /kernel/drv/md.conf file and rebooted the system using the c#t#d# device.
System is currently running fine..no problems. I've been asked to re-mirror.
I tried recreating the mirrors using metainit..wouldn't work, complained about /dev/md/admin (something on those lines) file being absent. All meta commands.. metastat..etc give the same error.
I renamed the md.conf file back to what it was (md.conf) and rebooted off the c#t#d# device. Now the meta commands work and metastat shows both sub mirrors in maintenance state .
I tried metadetach but it fails saying the submirror is synching.
How do I go about deleting all the devices and recreating them ?
Will a metadb -d do the trick ?
I can't take the risk of screwing up anything as this box has around 10 zones running on it.
