I had a hard disk go bad on a Solaris Sun Fire v240 server. The bad hard disk is part of a raid array which has 3 other hard disks, which are fine. I pulled the bad hard disk from the server and replaced it with a
new hard disk. I am having problems installing the new hard disk in the raid array. It is a software raid array. Talking to another technician, he claims that the partitions have to be the same as the other hard disks which are part of the raid array. Is this true? How can I change the partitions on the new hard disk to look like the other partition in other hard disks?
