Hi,
Have a Sparc system running 5.8.
I want my Sparc system to send a cold start trap to 192.168.1.19 when it reboots, but it is not.

I added "trap 192.168.1.19" to the configuration in /etc/snmp/conf/snmpd.conf
I've restarted /etc/init.d/init.snmpdx but this does not help.

What am I missing?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi - curious if anyone has experience working with SNMP on Solaris.

I would expect the system to send a Cold Start snmptrap when the SNMP daemon is restarted, but I have been unsuccessful in getting that to happen in my lab.

Are there any known issues with certain versions of the SNMP daemon running on Solaris or any other known issues with SNMP in general on Solaris?

Any info is appreciated!
Thanks.

The version of SNMP that comes with SOlaris in my opinion sucks. I would look into downloading NetSNMP and using that instead.
