Hi,

I am trying to install an application and the instructions
include a make in a certain directory:

make distclean
make

and I get the following error:

make[1]: *** [/export/home/ms/installation/images/cfg] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/export/home/ms/installation/names'

I removed the directories and as soon as they are created,
the error appears again. I am new to Solaris, so any help
will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nancy

Ok, got it!
There are two make apps on my machine!

I tried the path /usr/local/bin/make and
that wouldn't work

I tried the other one, /usr/ccs/bin and
it works!

Go figure!

The usual location is /usr/ccs/bin
Maybe someone didn't know where to look for it and installed(or coppied ) make into /usr/local/bin.

The /usr/local/bin version is most probably the GNU make which speaks a slightly different language. /usr/local/bin/make --version will confirm, or otherwise.

Annihilannic.
