solaris logical volume dynamic size increase

I need to know how to dynamically increase (without unmounting?) a logical volume on a Sun solaris system, v5.7.

are you using veritas volume manager? if so, is it a vxfs file system or ufs file system?

you can grow a UFS mounted filesystem with /usr/sbin/growfs. The trick is to make sure the slices/metadevices are large enough to handle the growfs command issued.
