hi guys,
when you install jumbo patches, the command:
install_cluster nosave -q
What does nosave & -q option do ?
also if some of the patches fail, how can you do a better diagnoctic for it ?
Thanks !

install_cluster -? will tell you what they do.

I do not recommend the nosave option unless you are very low on disk space as you won't be able to back out any patches if you need to. Annihilannic.

Hi,

The cluster install should create a log file in /var/sadm/install_data/cluster_name_log. And this log file will indicate the success or failure of each individual patch. The details on the individual patch installs can be found in the paths indicated in the cluster log file. They'll be something like /var/sadm/patch/108869-18/log. The patch log file should give you the skinny as to why the patch failed.

Hope this helps! Mike
