Greetings,

installing the Intel Version on a COMPAQ Notebook, the following problem occurs, which seems to be with the Solaris install procedure. With 'interactive installation' and selecting 'entire distribution', the interactive
installer finished successfully. After the reboot it asks (and gets) a 'root password'. After that it comes up with a Motif GUI, a cursor and a workspace menu with many entries. What to do here ? I can open a terminal
window, type halt or reboot and restart back into that situation. Somehow it should continue installing the stuff from the 2nd CD, but it is not clear, how to trigger that action - which command to give. Or is it really intended, that the user installs all additional packages manually with pkgadd ??? Many Thank you for your advice.

Cheers,

Bern

I think you're probably correct in your assumption that the second CD contains packages which not every user will wish or need to install and that it's a matter of choosing which ones you need and pkgadding them accordingly. HTH.
