I am having issues with a Intel computer that I just installed Solaris 8 Intel on. At the hardware level I can see my cdrom, but after bootup I cannot see the cdrom in the /dev directory. I tried a
$volcheck /dev/cdrom
and
$volcheck /dev/cdrom0
but they don't exist so I tried like I would on an ultra to get into the ok prompt to do the standard
probe-scsi-all
but then remeber that my system is IDE so that would not work.
The system is a P3 500Mhz system with the following hardware.
CDROM Sony
CDROM-RW HP
JAZ
100 Zip
Floppy
4mm Tape drive
2 harddrives
I am thinking that I might have overloaded the system with hardware that is using the IDE controllers.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
