Can some one help me? I download solaris 9 from I tried to burn the iso images as installation CD, but to no avail.

which cd's did you download?
the best ones to go for are the 'installation 1 of 2' and 'installation 2 of 2'

they are zip'ped up files to reduce download times, you may need to unzip them before you can stick the iso's onto cdrom.

are you using windows to burn the cd's?

I download the zip files 'installation 1 of 2'. After unziping the files I burned them as iso images. However, of the 661 MB of files only 2 MB was on the burn CD. I'm using Roxio burner.

I download Red Hat 9 and burn them with no problem, so I know am doing it correctly.

umm ... i only recently burnt them onto cdrom myself (however i did it using a sparc box with a cd-writer) ...

i don't know roxio burner, it could be something to do with the bootable part of the cd confusing roxio? (Sun CDroms may be in a slightly different format, being pure iso images compared to the RH ones)

are there any options in roxio to burn the files as is?

I had recently downloaded them on a XP system and burned them with no problems, but I used nero to do it. Nero does a much better job handling bootable CD's. You can just go to and download a trial version and give it a shot.
