I'm trying to build a Solaris cluster on 2 T5220s with a shared RAID. When I run scinstall, the software automatically configures the network interfaces. I have 4 interfaces, e1000g0 - e1000g3. I want 0 and 1 to be the primary and failover public address, 2 and 3 to be the primary and failover private TEST address. I also have the public network separate from my private. What should my /etc/hostname.e1000gX files look like?

What cluster software wil you be using ?

For the primary and secondary nic you will have to use ipmp, go a google and you will find instructions on how to set up ipmp.

I'm not familiar with Sun cluster, I use vcs.

We use ipmp for the production network and vcs takes care of the private hearbeat connections.

Hi
Agree, ipmp will be the right thing to use (previously nafo was used in solaris 8). But if you want a single IP address to connect to the Active node you will have to do extra work by creating a resource which will failover the IP over the new active host (in case of switchover).
Cheers
