Hi all,

I'm at the beginning level (newbie) on this world and I just purchase a Netra t1120 with 2 HP in 36Gig 1 Gig Ram. I just installed the Solaris 9 on it and i made it work, i think... I had only the ok prompt at the beginning and with a boot cdrom I installed the OS. I don't have video card in it so I'm using only the TTYA port.
What should I do from now to have a GUI/window/gnome/kde any of them via TCP/IP (SSH, telnet or anything) How do i get to this point. Now I can SSH to it which is fine, but I don't know how to start the GUI. I use to do SSH on other machine and run STARTKDE or STARTX but not here.

Any information would be much appreciate, i want to learn as much as it's possible.
I need just direction..:)
Thanks

since the netra does not have KVM you need a laptop/PC with eg. Exceed or something, look at thread60-794592. I don't know if DSL (Damn Small Linux) supports remote desktop sessions

Best Regards, Franz

You can startup the dtlogin in a mode where it listens for remote connections. But, as stated by daFranze you will need Exceed, Reflection X, or some other program. Two of the best ones in my opinion are Cygwin and VNC. Those are both free.
